At last – what I’ve been working on

Mokume Gane – this version is vaguely inspired by Julie Picarello.  I’ve not taken her classes, just seen pics of her work.  A purposeful pattern and not worrying about holes left behind.  This is not smooth and flat but has texture and holes where the base shows through.

I like the graphic nature of this swirl cane.  The thin black separating lines add a lot of visual interest.

Inspired by Sandra McCaw – ever since I got her dvd, I’ve been obsessed with this technique.  Mine aren’t anywhere near as neat and precise as hers but I really like them anyway.

Pods ala Donna Kato.  Love her new book on caning.  It’s a good reminder of what I know and the eye candy is fantastic.

Regular Mokume Gane with translucent and silver leaf.  Saw this color combo on Flickr and had to try my own.
